- オーストラリア、ブリスベン在住の版画作家。 東京都出身。 １９９７年に東京都練馬区のEga銅版画工房で版画を始める。 １９９８年渡英。Central St.Martinsのイブニングコースで、銅版画とシルクスクリーンを学ぶ。Artichoke Print Workshop, Ormond Road Workshopにて製作。 ２００３年渡米。 ２００５年渡豪。２００７年まで、シドニーのKu-ring-gai Art Centreの版画講座を受講。２００８年から２０１０年まで、Hornsby TAFEにて、版画を学ぶほか、製作も行う。 ２０１０年末からは、活動の場を豪州クイーンズランド州のブリスベンに移す。ブリスベンのImpress Print Workshopのメンバー。 豪州の版画の団体である、Australian Print Council会員。 Kay Watanabe is a Tokyo-born artist who produces prints, using such techniques as etching, drypoint, woodcut, linocut and collagraph. She started printmaking in Tokyo in late 1990s and continued studying printmaking at Central St.Martins in London before moving to Washington, DC. After moving to Sydney, Australia, she learned printmaking at Ku-ring-gai Art Centre under Seraphina Martin and attended Hornsby TAFE where she further explored various types of printmaking under such printmakers as Gary Shinfield, Jacqui Driver, Elizabeth Hunter and Seraphina Martin. Now Kay lives in Brisbane, Australia, and she is a member of Impress Print Workshop. She is also a member of the Australian Print Council.
